Cu 2+ (aq) + 4 NH3 (aq) Cu(NH3)4 2+ (aq)

When we add HCl (aq) to the solution, it fully dissolves into H + and Cl - . Since Cl - combines with Cu 2+ to form CuCl2 (s), the concentration of Cu 2+ decreases. In accordance with Le Chatelier's principle, the equilibrium shifts to the left to compensate.
